Teddy bears and twerkers took over the MTV stage for Miley Cyrus’ performance at MTV’s Video Music Awards on Sunday night.

Cyrus performed her summer hit “We Can’t Stop” before Robin Thicke joined her onstage for a special rendition of “Blurred Lines.” The onstage party seemed to perplex audience members, especially after Cyrus stripped off her teddy-bear onesie to reveal a nude-colored bikini.

It’s her party, she can do what she want: Miley Cyrus performed her hit summer song “We Can’t Stop” at the 2013 MTV VMAs.

Cyrus was among a parade of stars who appeared on the Barclays Center stage at this year’s Video Music Awards, along with Justin Timberlake, Kanye West and Lady Gaga. (Katy Perry also performed, but underneath the Brooklyn Bridge.)

Cyrus’ VMA performance featured a bunch of dancers in bear costumes, but not the song’s signature auto-tune. The singer’s racy track includes references to molly and cocaine, but MTV bleeped the “molly” reference during the performance. (Kanye West was also muted by the MTV censors when he rapped “molly” on the “Yeezus” song “Blood on the Leaves.”)
